Meet the AirArtWorkshop Artists

  • Astra

    Astra is an international Artist, Children's Book Author and illustrator. She regularly visits schools as an Artist in residence and helps pupils to advance skillsets in all mediums.

    Astra’s art is predominantly drawing and painting with ink but is able to offer workshops in a multitude of mediums including pastels and watercolour.

    For family focused workshops Astra uses the theme of her childrens’ books. Book bundles are included as keepsakes.

  • David Gillingwater AEAGMA

    David Gillingwater AEAGMA trained as an illustrator and graphic designer, now living near Woodbridge on the Suffolk Coast. David, under the tutelage of portrait artist Jack Stephenson, himself a pupil of Ken Howard. David works and teaches oil painting from his unique studio in Theberton.

    David produces portraits in oils, both formal and informal. Taking great inspiration from the classical masters of the Edwardian era, David aspires to give narrative to the individuals depicted.

    As well as portraits David is know for his still life and local landscape painting.

    David’s Studio can host large parties for workshops and can also supply nude models for life study, subject to availability.

  • Lucy Perry

    Lucy Perry is a British painter-printmaker with a studio in the heart of rural East Anglia. Her extensive and lively body of work responds to natural forms with painterly and colourful outcomes exploring pattern and place. Whether painting or printmaking Lucy's primary concerns are colour mixing and mark making. Intuitive responses are created en plein air in the landscape and the garden then developed in the studio. Gesture and layers are key elements in creating Lucy's work where marks are made to capture form, fleeting moments of light and glorious interpretations of colour and pattern. Lucy has work in private collections in the UK and Europe.

    Lucy can offer workshops in a number of mediums including, still life painting, abstract painting, cyanotypes and paper craft.
